EEE DAY 2017 JOB SEMINAR

Worrying throughout the university life about none other than career has become the undeniable fate of the students. Therefore, Department of EEE, BUET, in collaboration with BUET WIE Student Branch Affinity Group, organized a “Job Seminar” on the occasion of EEE Day 2017, to give a break to this dread that has consumed minds of the graduating students. The event, sponsored by Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. was held on the 18th of May, Thursday, 2017, from 10:30am to 2:00 pm. The Job Seminar was one of the most crucial parts of the celebration, including a successful talk about job opportunities, featured by important representatives from various industries. A total of 80 ambitious and enthusiastic graduating students were present in the seminar.

The first speaker of the seminar was the General Manager of Summit Communication briefing about the history and success of their industry; followed by the HR, Mr. Md Asif Hasan, who discussed about their internship programs, job eligibility and the procedure of job application.

Next, Col. Mamun from Bangladesh Army was present among the students with a different aspect of a successful engineering carrier along with serving the country directly. He shared his valuable time enlightening the engineering students with the knowledge of how important engineering works are for the military personnels, fighting for their motherland. He showed a distinctive and successful way to serve the country with his speech and video clips, ending with the eligibility requirement and application procedures.

The next speaker was the honorable CEO of Sine Pulse GMBH and Aplomb Tech BD., Mr. Md. Saif Saifullah, who delivered a motivational speech about career and development in his industry and also shared his life and exclusive job recruitment experiences. He ended his speech with an advisory and encouraging discussion about professional life based on his observations and exultant profession.

Followed by this was a session by Mr. Hasan Mahmud Khan, Head of Sales, Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy Ltd. He shared his valuable time briefing about their highly developed industry and the bright future of the graduating engineers in Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy Ltd.

One of the most desirable job industries for Electronic and Electrical Engineers is Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd, (PGCB). Mr. A. K. M. Gause Mohiuddin Ahmed, Superintending Engineer and Project Director, PGCB was present with us. He gave an encouraging speech about how to build a carrier in his industry along with advice and guidance required for it.

Last but not the least, was a session by the Deputy Manager of Energypac Engineering Ltd., Pramiti Anasuya Alam. At first, she gave an introductory speech about their work and business; and advised about writing a good and concise resume. Later on, with the assistance from her colleagues, she carried out a mock interview session with some randomly selected students. This was mainly to point out the common mistakes and significant questions students face in an interview. She also spoke about her experience and personal preference in both CV and interview.

All the speakers ended their speech with a questionnaire session, where they addressed all sorts of enquiries from the participants. Afterwards, they were all presented with tokens of appreciation, on behalf of the Department of EEE, BUET from honourable faculties of the department.

This event was one of the most successful one in the history of BUET EEE Day. We would like to express our gratitude towards Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Professor, Dept. of EEE, BUET and Convener, EEE Day 2017. This event would not have been possible without the kind supervision and co-operation of Dr. Md. Zahurul Islam, Associate Professor, Dept. of EEE, BUET; Dr. Md. Farhad Hossain, Associate Professor, Dept. of EEE, BUET and Mr. Mohammad Abdullah Al Shohel, Lecturer, Dept. of EEE BUET. Our respected faculties played a very important role in the event by taking the lead role with their presence and continuous vigilance throughout. Apart from all that, although needless to say, the event would not be a success without the dedication of the speakers and organizers; and the enthusiastic contribution of the participants.
