This year, in celebration of IEEE Day 2020 IEEE WIE BUET Student Branch Affinity Group in association with IEEE BUET Student Branch organized an exhilarating quiz competition called “IEEE DAY 2020: Inquizitive!” on 6 October 2020 from 9:00 PM to 9:30 PM (GMT+6). The objective of this competition was to test and enhance one’s knowledge about IEEE as a whole.
A total of 45 students from all over Bangladesh participated in this competition where prizes worth 1000 BDT were awarded to the winners. After an exhilarating session of online quiz battle, Abdur Rahman Showrov was titled as the winner of the competition with 2246 points. The first runner-up was Khandakar Humyra Oyshi with 1832 points and the second runner-up was Syeda Jannatul Ferdaus Jumma with 1632 points. Along with these 3 places, two attendees were also placed as honorable mentions who are Anindha Dhar and Sudipto Pramanik. The intense quiz session helped the attendees gain an insightful perspective about many common aspects of IEEE which often get overlooked.
The theme for IEEE Day 2020 is: “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow”. Hence, this celebration of IEEE Day focused on curating all the participants with such insightful events to introduce new ideas for a better future.
