EEE DAY 2017: POSTER COMPETITION

Over the years, poster presentation has become one of the main attractions of conferences. Keeping that in mind, ‘EEE DAY 2017: Poster Competition’ was jointly organized by Department of EEE, BUET and BUET WIE Student Branch Affinity group on May 18, 2017. The event was sponsored by Singularity Interactive Ltd.  For the very first time in the history of BUET EEE DAY, an event of this kind was held, to give the undergraduate students a platform to grab the opportunity of evaluating their work and practice their presentation skills.

Over the years, poster presentation has become one of the main attractions of conferences. To present research work in a conference and grab attention to a research topic, knowledge about how to make a valuable poster is needed. To share research ideas and to receive critiques on work that can help students in the future, a poster needs to be presented in a formal yet attractive way.

The scope of this presentation was innovation in any EEE related work, such as Control System, Microprocessor, Biomedical, Electronics, Power System, Signal Processing etc. A total of 26 teams from BUET and 10 other renowned private universities, including AUST, NSU and AIUB registered for the competition. The aim of this event was to hone the skills of participants that would in eventually help them in presenting their research findings to a larger audience.

The range of projects showcased on posters varied, but were mostly humanitarian, with a few in the field of technological advancement. The colorful posters graced the plinth of ECE Building, BUET on 18th afternoon and were visited by other project enthusiastic students. The enquiries of the students were answered diligently by the teams comprising of 2-3 members.

Our honourable judges for the competition, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, Professor, Dept. of EEE, BUET; Mr. Md. Ayaz Masud, Lecturer, Dept. of EEE, BUET; Mr. Asir Intisar Khan, Lecturer, Dept. of EEE, BUET were welcomed to the event soon after it started. The judges, each specialized under different fields of EEE, examined the posters and made critical queries to the participants for a fair judgment. The participants presented their ideas with utmost rigor and confidence to the judges for the ultimate first prize of 5000 BDT.

 

 

After a lengthy and tiresome session, posters were marked and final judgement was done. The first prize of 5000 BDT was earned team —- from —–; second prize of 3000 BDT by team —- from —–; and lastly the third prize of 2000 BDT was taken up team —- from —–.

Certificates and T-shirts were provided to all the participants. The event was a success as it helped the participants to present their research/project and grab the attention of the distinguished personalities in the academic sector.
