IEEE Bangladesh Section along with Women in Engineering Affinity Group IEEE Bangladesh Chapter and IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group organized “IEEE Women in Engineering International Leadership Summit 2018” on 12-13 October at BSMMU Convention Centre with the theme of “Dream, Believe, Achieve, Empower”. BUET WIE Student Branch Affinity Group was a volunteer partner for this flagship event contributing in committees like registration, logistics, food etc. A total of 55 speakers including 13 foreign speakers, 33 WIE-IHTPC participants from 8 different countries along with more than 300 delegates, volunteers, press and media journalists took part in the summit. Samira Emerson, analytics and data science director, The Center of Applied Data Science, Malaysia, Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, CEO and MD, Robi Axiata Limited, Rokia Afzal Rahman, President, Bangladesh Federation of Women Entrepreneurs and many more graced the summit with their presence as keynote speakers. The event drew to a conclusion where Mustafa Jabbar, Minister, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology was present as chief guest and keynote speaker of the closing ceremony.
