On International Women in Engineering Day 2020, IEEE BUET Student Branch and IEEE BUET SB WIE Affinity Group organized a workshop on “PCB Designing with Eagle” which was the second event of “SKILLSHOP” – series workshops on Software skill development. The instructors of the workshop were Shakil Anwar, General Secretary, IEEE BUET SB and Sakib Chowdhury, Vice Chairperson (Activity), IEEE BUET SB. A total of 52 participants, all from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) attended the workshop.

With all the participants joining 10 minutes earlier, the workshop commenced at 03:00 PM. Satyaki Banik, Chair of IEEE BUET Student Branch initiated with a brief introduction about the idea of arranging series workshops on technical skill development. He then handed the session over to Md. Shakil Anwar. He first instructed the participants about how to configure their computer screen for effective management of their workspace, so that they could create simulations on their own while observing the instructor simultaneously.

After that, the PCB Designing session with Eagle started. Md. Shakil Anwar demonstrated a basic microcontroller based circuit with ATMEGA 328P. This Circuit had 2 parts: one is the microcontroller unit and the other one was the power supply unit. Md. Shakil Anwar described every detail of these two units to the participants. After the schematic was designed, Md. Shakil Anwar switched to the PCB designing part. At 5.30 PM the PCB designing session ended.

After the tutorial session, a feedback form was provided to the participants. Workshop slides, simulation files and video recording of the workshop were sent to the participants through email afterwards.

The event ended with a group photo taken online through the Zoom platform and a note of thanks from Satyaki Banik to the participants.
