The IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter, in collaboration with Mujib 100 Ideas, hosted an online session titled Innovative Education EcoSystem through Industrial Collaboration. The event took place as a part of the centennial birthday celebration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

 

Bangladesh University Grant Commission (UGC) will be holding an international conference based on the 4th industrial revolution as a part of the centennial birthday celebration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. It will take place on 10-11 December 2021. The event title is International Conference on 4th Industrial Revolution and Beyond-IC4IR 2021. Alongside the conference, there will be another event named Mujib shotoborsho idea Protijogita. The latter event will be an idea-pitching competition based on the centennial birthday celebration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

 

The event organizing committee held an online round table meeting to discuss the idea-pitching competition. The event title was Innovative Education EcoSystem through Industrial Collaboration, and it took place on Zoom on 5 October 2021. The prime guest of the event was the honorable deputy minister of education of the government of Bangladesh, Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, MP. Professor Dr. Kazi Shahidullah, Chairman of UGC, also graced the event.

 

The event ended successfully with the organizing committees, Mujib 100 Ideas, and IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter.

The IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter successfully organized an annual summit titled “IEEE SB and SBC Counselors, Advisors and Chairs Summit 2021” on 24th April 2021 at 03:00 PM (GMT+6 hrs) through the virtual platform of Zoom. The speakers of this session were all the highly esteemed individuals, including Prof. Dr. Md Abdur Razzaque, Chair, IEEE CS BDC 2021.

Once a year, the IEEE Society Bangladesh Chapter holds an annual summit to bring together the Chairs and Advisors of the Student Branch wings, as well as technical and ICT experts, to connect, receive direction, and develop a new and more robust network. This year as well, the IEEE CS BDC took the significant step of arranging an annual summit titled “IEEE SB and SBC Counselors, Advisors, and Chairs Summit 2021” to help speed this flow of accomplishments and to reconnect with all of the active CS chapters in the Bangladesh sector. This summit provided all necessary information regarding this year’s year-round plans for 2021, as well as a brief discussion on the numerous benefits of IEEE CS membership, student scholarship opportunities, and, most importantly, enlightenment on the necessary actions for achieving the Best CS Student Chapter Award. In a nutshell, this was one of the most important sessions for illuminating all of the Computer Society SB chapters of the IEEE Bangladesh Section for their unwavering dedication and excitement in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Executive committee members of IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter (IEEE CS BDC), were present in this glorious session to share their experiences, leading plans, and encouraging remarks to conduct the gala events of this year in marking it as a significant one with the collaboration of one another. The session was met with the presence of many IEEE CS Student Branch officers, Counsellors, Advisors, SB Chairs and CS chapter members.

 

Workshop on Amazon Web Services: AI Entrepreneurship in Cloud: Behavioral Recognition

The IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter successfully organized an industry workshop on Amazon Web Services: AI Entrepreneurship in Cloud: Behavioral Recognition The event took place in Zoom on 19 August 2021 at 9.00 AM (GMT+6.00). The event was organized in collaboration with the 10th International Conference on Informatics, Electronics, and Vision (ICIEV) & the 5th International Conference on Imaging, Vision & Pattern Recognition (IVPR).

The speakers of the workshop were Yoshitaka Haribara, Ph.D., a Startup Solutions Architect at AWS Japan, and Tatsuya Urabe, Ph.D., a Machine Learning Solutions Architect at AWS Japan. Prof. Atsushi Inoue, Mie University, Japan was the Chair of the session while Mohammad Rubbyat Akram, Industrial activity coordinator, IEEE CS BDC served as the moderator of the event.

In the workshop, the speakers explained how Cloud Computing can be used as an IT platform for innovation in Artificial Intelligence. The session was split into two parts. In the beginning, the speakers made a general introduction to AI in AWS Cloud and a few entrepreneurial cases. In the second part, they made a demonstration of AI in AWS Cloud related to Behavioral Recognition AI. As a whole, it was a comprehensive session combining AI, Behavioral Recognition AI, ML, Cloud, and a few entrepreneurial cases with live demonstration.

The chair of the conference, Prof. Dr. Md Atiqur Rahman Ahad along with a number of participants including students, academicians, researchers, and professionals from different Universities and relevant personnel from the educational organizations attended the event. Over 50 IEEE and non-IEEE members attended the workshop.

Free Web Hosting Facilities for IEEE Student Branches: How to make your Own Website

A successful workshop on Free Web Hosting Facilities for IEEE Student Branches: How to make your Own Website has been successfully arranged by IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter on Event date: 16th July 2021 Event Time: 07:00 PM (GMT+6 through zoom virtual platform. The keynote speaker for this workshop is Md. Jamil Istiaq, in the department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). He is also the web coordinator of IEEE CS BDC Team SPARK. The workshop was conducted by the 2021 IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter, in collaboration with IEEE CS BDC Team SPARK

The workshop’s major goal was to present a detailed discussion on free web hosting opportunities for the IEEE Student Branches. It presented a step-by-step guide for students of the IEEE Student Branches having access to free website hosting opportunities to keep the website of the branch up-to-date with the regular information of their events, achievements and also to reach the proficient individuals through a professional approach. This introduced them to a facility provided specially to IEEE CS Student Branches and motivated students to enrich and become members of their respective student branches. Over 100 participants including 90 IEEE and some non-IEEE members attended the workshop. 

Executive committee members of the IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter (IEEE CS BDC), including Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, Chair, Md. Ahsan Habib, Student Activity Coordinator, Sajeeb Saha, Secretary, IEEE CS BDC graced the webinar with their presence. Overall the event was met with a huge response and students were encouraged to join the following lectures of the series.

The Art of CV Writing

IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter has successfully arranged the “The Art of CV Writing” on 30th July 2021 from 7:30 – 9:45 pm along with IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter Spark Team on Zoom Virtual Platform. The seminar was conducted by Munim Ahmed who is one of the Founder Facilitator, OneXpress and Manager, HR Tech, and Talent Development, Robi.

In the talk, the speaker focused on how to properly write a CV and how a CV can be more effective and impactful on the intended field. The participants learnt about what makes a CV stand out among others and how it helps to stay ahead in the recruitment procedure. The speaker showed a few demo CVs which helped the participants to realize how a corporate/business CV should be. The speaker also shared his experience in his field and how they approach.

Students, as well as faculties from various Departments and Universities attended the event. A peak of about 87 participants was present in the seminar. Sajeeb Saha, Secretary of IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter introduced the speaker.
