It has been decided that IEEE AUST Student Branch will try to arrange 3-4 workshops and two seminars per semester. Since engineering education cannot be completed without any practical knowledge and industries are the best place to acquire that knowledge, IEEE AUST SB will try to arrange an industrial tour each semester. IEEE AUST SB is also enthusiastic to arrange several other events such as job fair or project show or larger events in collaboration with IEEE Bangladesh Section.
Details about our upcoming and past events can be found below.

On Saturday, December 23, 2017, IEEE AUST Student Branch and IEEE Power and Energy Society Bangladesh Chapter is going to jointly organize a IEEE Distinguished Lecturer Program at the seminar room of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology. The title of the seminar is “Role of IoT in Energy Efficiency in a Smart City Connected Community”
The session will be carried out by Professor Dr. Saifur Rahman. He is the founding director of the Advanced Research Institute at Virginia Tech, USA where he is the Joseph R. Loring professor of electrical and computer engineering. He is the president-elect of the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) for 2016 and 2017, and will be the president for 2018 and 2019. He isa Life Fellow of the IEEE and an IEEE Millennium Medal winner. Dr. Rahman is a distinguished lecturer for the IEEE PES and has lectured on renewable energy, energy efficiency, smart grid, electric power system operation and planning, etc. in over 30 countries.
The presentation session will cover the role of IoT in Energy Efficiency and its contribution on the safety, security and improvement of the environment. Again, how urban challenges such as pollution, energy efficiency, security, parking, traffic, transportation, and others can be solved by utilizing advanced information and communication technologies (ICT) in data gathering and communications interconnectivity via the internet- will be discussed.

On Tuesday January 23, 2018, IEEE AUST Student Branch and IEEE AUST SB WIE Affinity Group is going to organize a workshop on LaTeX titled as “Learn to Write Research Papers Using LaTeX”. This Workshop will be held in the DSP lab of Dept. of EEE at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST).
LaTeX which is pronounced as a Lay-Tech is a document preparation system for high quality typesetting. It is mainly designed for high quality scientific or Technical documentation. LaTeX is widely used in academia for the communication and publication of scientific documents of many field. It has a prominent role in preparation of article that contains complex multilingual materials.
LaTeX seems to be handy tools when it comes to the point of writing a scientific article, research paper, journal or even the thesis paper about which most of final year students are very much concerned about.
This workshop is going to be conducted by Shoilie Chakma, Lecturer, IAT, BUET.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Seats are limited. So, all attendees must complete the registration process.
The Registration process will be conducted in 2 phases.
Phase 1 registration is open for all.
Selected applicants from phase 1 will be eligible to complete the payment and register for the confirmation of the seat. 4th Year students will get preference.
