The job description for VP of Engineering pipeline gives a general overview of all VP of Engineering position, but we are seeking specific skills and knowledge in SWQA for this new role.
We are seeking someone who can work in a ISO9000 like and also Agile (we do a 7 day cycle unlike anyone else), someone who can deep-dive into any productivity problems, someone who knows how to use metrics and automation, and understand tools like TeamRail, Selenium/Protractor as well as manual testing team leadership. You would have 4 people (3 teams) reporting directly to you and you would report to me.

Job description

We are looking for a talented reliability engineer to join our global engineering team to contribute in the area of new product development. The ideal candidate will bring passion, vision, initiative, and leadership to the development of new and improved treatment delivery platforms.
As a Reliability Engineer at Varian, you will:
Work with engineering project teams to create reliability program plans that ensure customer expectations for reliability are fully met throughout the life of the product.
Use Design for Reliability principles in a concurrent engineering environment to develop robust products, minimizing or eliminating failures and other problems that would adversely affect product availability.

o Reliability modeling and prediction of complex, repairable systems.

Use DOE principles to develop reliability test plans. Coordinate the test design and implementation, analyze and document test results.
Develop new test techniques and analytical tools as required to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products and processes.

Job Requirements
BS/MS degree in engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of related experience in reliability engineering. CRE preferred.
Experience applying reliability and statistical tools and performing Root Cause failure analysis.
Working knowledge of quality principles (Cp, Cpk, SPC, DFSS) is desired. Six Sigma certification a plus.
Working knowledge of compliance and engineering standards. Experience in the medical equipment field is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience leading teams is a plus.
Goal and results oriented, with a proven ability to achieve predictable results in a fast moving, dynamic environment.
Ability to adapt to different cultural environments and work effectively across all levels of an international organization.
