The IEEE Student Branch of Politecnico di Torino proud to announce the “IEEE PoliTO Student Symposium 2023 (best PoliTO student paper award)”.
The “IEEE PoliTO Student Symposium 2023 (Best PoliTo Student Paper Award)” is a local IEEE student paper contest organized by the IEEE Student Branch of Politecnico di Torino. This competition aims to promote students’ curiosity and passion for research across the spectrum of engineering fields actively promoted by IEEE.
The paper award recognizes the efforts of students already involved in research projects and scientific activities aligned with IEEE’s areas of interest. The material presented for the contest can derive from laboratories, courses and personal or team projects. While scientific originality is not mandatory, the uniqueness in treating the proposed topic and the author’s significant contribution should be evident.
Furthermore, it offers the prestigious opportunity for the two most outstanding student papers to win a prize of $130 each and be selected for submission to the esteemed IEEE Region 8 Student Paper Contest 2024.
Participation in this contest is exclusively reserved for IEEE Student Branch members at Politecnico di Torino. Being an IEEE SB member is easy: any Student Member of IEEE that is also a PoliTo student is automatically part of out community. Not sure if you are eligible? Submissions are welcome from recent graduates who have yet to embark on their Ph.D. journey.
All accepted works will be presented during the concluding event, either by oral (15 minutes) or poster/demo presentations.
UPDATE: the concluding event, which includes the paper presentations and the awards ceremony, will take place on November 6th 2023 at 1:00 pm (Politecnico di Torino, Maxwell Room). Don’t miss it! For more details, you can download the program of the event at the bottom of the page.

Important dates:
- Paper submission: September 11th to
September 30thOctober 20th, 2023. Papers must be submitted via email to sb.polito@ieee.org with the subject “Apply for the PoliTO SPC 2023”. Only one author per work must send the email. - Review process: Anonymously reviewed by Politecnico di Torino professors, researchers, and doctoral students.
- Notification of presentation format: Sent via email on October 23rd, 2023.
- Presentation: November 6th, 2023 – 1:00 pm – Politecnico di Torino, Maxwell Room.
