DEEP LEARNING: WHAT IS IT? (IN-PRESENCE SEMINAR)

06 October 2021 – 11.30 AM CET

IEEE Student branch Polito is pleased to invite you to the first IN-PRESENCE event and SEMINAR of the year. This seminar is highly recommended for both masters and bachelors degree students that are interested in Artificial Neural Networks and is captioned:

DEEP LEARNING: WHAT IS IT?

The event publicity will also be handled by our social media partner, IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu.
Abstract
The seminar will cover the basic idea about deep learning and what neural networks are and how they can be trained. Popular designs include the convolutional neural network, generative adversarial networks. It will be shown how they can be applied for problems of image classification and segmentation, fake image generation, DeepFlakes, and satellite image super-resolution.

Prof. Diego Valsesia
Diego Valsesia is an assistant professor in the department of Electronics and Telecommunications(DET) at Politecnico di Torino Italy. His research is focused on the building novel deep learning methods such as graph neural networks, self-supervised learning techniques etc. for multi-media and remote sensing data. He is a member of ELLIS society for advancement of Artificial Intelligence in Europe, a co-founder of Torino ELLIS Research Unit, and a member of EURASIP Technique Area Committee of Signal and Data Analytics for Machine Learning.
