Technical Discussion on “Power Distributions, Protections and Earthing Systems” held at AUST

Power distribution, protection and earthing systems are some of the most important topics of the modern power system. Students of electrical engineering must have clear knowledge about these issues for research or job life. The students who do not have any power related subjects also should have knowledge about these issues for interviews and for practical issues.

Thinking about the importance of power distribution, protections and earthing systems in field of power systems, IEEE AUST Student Branch arranged a technical discussion on “Power distribution, protections and earthing systems” on 5th January 2017, Thursday at the Seminar room of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology.

The keynote speaker of the seminar was the Chairman of Adex Group of Companies, Engr. Ali Azam. The Treasurer of AUST, Prof. Dr. Kazi Shariful Alam presided the seminar and The CEO of the Marketing department of Adex Group of Companies, Engr. Md. Harunor Rashid was present in the event as special guest. The Head of EEE Dept. of AUST, Prof. Satyen Biswas, Dean of EEE Dept. Prof. Abdur Rahim Mollah also attended the seminar along with respected teachers and present and former students of AUST.

In the opening speech of the event, Prof. Satyen Biswas urged the students to attend such technical seminars in conjunction with educational classes. In the keynote speech, Engr. Ali Azam described the contributions of Adex Group of Companies and discussed about the many hindrances faced in industrial sectors. After his enlightening speech, in an interactive question and answers session, he answered many of the questions from teachers and students. He also assured that Adex Group of Companies will continue supporting student activities.

Prof. Dr. Kazi Shariful Islam concluded the event by emphasizing the need of co-curricular activities parallel to academic studies for a student and encouraged to organize such events in future.
