Robotics for democracy is RAS powered program aiming to promote access to Robotics in Tunisia Rural Schools underdeveloped regions.

• Give them a chance to meet robotics and to get introduced to educational robotics new technologies
• The program includes several training sessions for educators so that they can spread the educational
  robotics activities with their pupils, and then make them competing in Robotic Challenge.

IEEE RAS Tunisia Chapter will organize a technical Workshop entitled “Build Your Own Robot” for primary school educators.  At the end of this workshop, educators will be able to build their own robots using an economic board such as Arduino.

Nabeul workshops held at Crefoc-Nabeul on March 22 & 23, were the kick-off meetings of the program.

Robotics for Democracy Initiative Goals : 

1. Impact educational system in poor schools by organizing a several Robotic Activities based on
   low-cost platforms like Arduino
2. Develop children skills in Robotics and teach them how to compete and get certified
3. Stimulate young people to get involved with technology

IEEE RAS Tunisia will organize a trainee trainers sessions which is a technical session for IEEE R4D Volunteers(Primary schools educators + 7 RAS members) entitled “Build Your own Robot  session”; R4D first Training

Agenda

RAS Tunisia Chapter is arranging its well known “Getting starting with Arduino” tutorials Level 1 and 2. The workshop is a set of hands-on activities where basics of C and electronics are needed. The workshop will cover key skills to develop robotics applications with Arduio like platforms, it will include : Managing the Arduino IDE,  Logic inputs/outputs,  Analog inputs/outputs, Servo integration.

The training will include several Tutorials, please see the agenda for details, note that RAS members will be regsitered for free.

RAS Tunisia Chapter is organizing a try engineering session in collaboration with RAS SAC R8 and OES TN chpater, Intended for pre-university students, parents, teachers, school counselors, and the general public, TryEngineering.org lets visitors explore how to prepare for an engineering career, ask experts engineering-related questions, and play interactive games..

The R8 IEEE Teachers in Service Program training edition’ 2017- held by December the 3’rd at CREFOC Nabeul was an amazing session.

Xdays’2017 is a major technical event happening in the Southeast of Tunisia, the event is organized by ISIMG, the Research Team on intelligent Machines-ENIG and the X’days organization. Xdays is 3 days activities focusing on robotic competitions, challenges, workshops, and tutorials… The 2017 edition took place from the first to third of December 2017.
As part of this event, RAS Tunisia Chapter arranged its well known “Getting starting with Arduino” tutorial.
