Outstanding Engineer Award

2021 IEEE PES Outstanding Engineer Award is awarded to Associate Professor R.T. Naayagi. Congratulations and we thank you for your contributions and dedications.

Selection Criteria:

Leadership in Technical Society Activities:

    • Demonstrated leadership roles within local and/or transnational IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) chapters or other relevant technical societies.
    • Contributions to the advancement of technical knowledge and innovation within the field of power and energy engineering.
    • Participation in organizing technical events, conferences, workshops, or publications aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among professionals in the field.

Community and Humanitarian Activities:

    • Active engagement in community outreach initiatives or humanitarian projects that leverage engineering expertise to address societal challenges.
    • Leadership roles or significant contributions to projects focused on promoting sustainable energy solutions, improving access to electricity, or enhancing energy efficiency in underserved communities.
    • Evidence of making a positive impact on society through engineering initiatives aimed at improving quality of life, promoting environmental sustainability, or addressing social inequalities.

Technical Competence and Engineering Achievements:

    • Demonstrated technical competence through notable engineering achievements, innovations, or contributions to the advancement of power and energy technologies.
    • Evidence of professional excellence, such as patents, publications in reputable journals or conferences, awards, or recognition from peers in the field.
    • Leadership in driving engineering projects or initiatives that have made significant contributions to the field, whether through research, design, implementation, or practical applications.

Eligibility: IEEE and PES member

Category: i) Less than 15 years of engineering experience ii) Greater than 15 years of engineering experience

Nomination Process: Interested PES members should submit a one-page application outlining their contributions to the IEEE PES Singapore Chapter Chair https://site.ieee.org/singapore-pes/contact-us/ and the award sub-committee. Alternatively, they can also be nominated by other PES members.

Applicants will be evaluated based on their accomplishments and contributions in these three key areas, with emphasis on demonstrated leadership, innovation, and impact within the realm of technical society activities, community engagement, and engineering excellence.
