IEEE Power and Energy 2015

On october 15th, the conference IEEE Power and Energy 2015 was held at the Marriott – Finisterre Hotel in Panama City, Panama. This year the conference was entitled “The Expansion of the Panamanian Power System” including topics such as:

  • The Energy Plan 2015-2050, Rebeca Ramírez from the National Secretariat of Energy
  • The Transmission System Expansion Plan, Daniel Pereira from ETESA
  • The Expansion of the Power System since the Regulatory Point of View, Moisés Cano from ASEP
  • Perspective and Tendencies of the Electric Sector at 2015: A Vision from the Agents, Jorge Rivera Staff from ENLEX, S.A.
El 15 de octubre se llevó a cabo la conferencia IEEE Potencia y Energía 2015 titulada "La Expansión del Sistema de Potencia de Panamá" con exposiciones de miembros de la Secretaría Nacional de Energía, ETESA, ASEP y ENLEX.

Women in Power 2015

The group Women in Power Panama from the PES Panama Chapter hosted a dinner on Thursday June 4th at the Hyatt Place Hotel where we had the opportunity to share among colleagues and friends whilst we enjoyed two interesting technical conferences dictated by Argelis Thompson and Patria Mollah who talked about Energy Saving Solutions and Claims Procedures at ASEP, respectively.

El pasado 4 de junio se llevó a cabo en el Hotel Hyatt Place el seminario/buffet Women in Power 2015. Dicho evento contó con la exposición de la Ing. Argelis Thompson y la Lic. Patria Mollah sobre Soluciones de Ahorro Energético y Procedimientos de Reclamo en la ASEP.

PES Plain Talk 2015 “Fundamentals of Electric Power and Energy Systems for Non-Engineers Professionals”

On Wednesday March 25th was held the PES Plain Talk: Fundamentals of Electric Power and Energy Systems for Non-Engineers Professionals at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel. We appreciate the participation of members from companies such as ASEP, ETESA, ENSA, Panama Ports, Energyst, among others.

This plain talk was designed for professionals, students and general public in need to develop a basic understanding regarding how the electric system works and operates, which are its components, and how they work all together in a system that starts at the generation of the electricity, its transmission, operation and control, protection, distribution and commercialization, safety and market regulations.
