12/21/2015

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is seeking participants in the ANSI-accredited U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for International Organization for Standardization(ISO) Technical Committee (TC) 192 on Gas Turbines. All U.S. stakeholder organizations in relevant fields and industries are strongly encouraged to get involved, and those representing utilities are especially sought.

As the U.S. member body to ISO, ANSI accredits U.S. TAGs to develop and transmit U.S. positions on ISO technical activities. ANSI member and accredited standards developer the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) serves as the ANSI-accredited administrator of the U.S. TAG to ISO TC 192.

The scope of the work of TC 192 covers standardization in the field of all aspects of gas turbine design, application, installation, operation and maintenance, including simple turbine cycles, combined cycle systems, definitions, procurement, acceptance, performance, environment (on the gas turbine itself and the external environment) and methods of test.ISO / TC 192 is responsible for preparing horizontal standards for all types of gas turbines. Work on aero gas turbine engines shall be undertaken in liaison with those technique committees having the primary responsibility.Note: ISO / TC 20 has the primary responsibility of preparing standards relative to the specific application of gas turbines to aerospace.

Prospective U.S. TAG participants for ISO TC 192 or for more information, contact U.S. TAG Secretary Lauren Powers at powersl@asme.org or the ANSI ISO team at isot@ansi.org.
