The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is an international organization which promotes the advancement of technology. We are a non-profit organization that strives to provide continuing education, conferences, and special meetings in the areas of electrical, electronics, and computing.

Objectives

The Winnipeg Section is the local branch of the IEEE. We strive to promote the ideals and objectives of our parent organization by providing seminars, workshops, courses, conferences (e.g., Miconex, ANTEM, Wescanex, CCECE, EPEC), and special meetings in the areas of electrical engineering, electronics and computing.

Membership

As of January 2010, the Section had 532 members, including 54 Senior Memebers, 4 Fellows, 105 Student Members. The students members come from the University of Manitoba and other Provincial colleges.

Membership in the IEEE has many benefits for technology and scientific professionals. This includes access to online resources, standards documents and other publications. Additionally, the IEEE offers networking opportunities with other professionals and in the form of conferences, events and presentations.
