Welcome to the IEEE Winnipeg Section website! As a leading international organization, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is dedicated to promoting technological advancement and innovation. As a non-profit organization, IEEE aims to provide a range of educational and professional development opportunities for its members, including continuing education, conferences, and specialized meetings in the fields of electrical, electronics, and computing. Our goal is to provide opportunities for knowledge sharing, networking, and personal and professional growth for our members.
As the local chapter of IEEE, our Winnipeg Section is a community of professionals, students, and researchers in the field of engineering, technology and sciences. Our goal is to promote the advancement of technology and its application for the benefit of humanity. Our section is dedicated to providing opportunities for networking, professional development, and community engagement for our members.
We offer a diverse range of activities and events that cater to the interests of our members. These include technical meetings, workshops, seminars, and networking events. These events provide opportunities for members to share their knowledge, learn new skills, and connect with other professionals in the field. We also have a strong focus on student engagement and provide opportunities for students to get involved in the IEEE community. We have a student branch at the University of Manitoba (UMIEEE), which is dedicated to providing students with opportunities to learn, grow, and connect with other students and professionals.
In addition to our regular events and activities, we also have a dedicated Women in Engineering (WIE) section within our chapter. Our WIE section is committed to promoting the participation and advancement of women in the field of engineering and technology. We provide opportunities for networking, mentoring, and professional development for our female members. We also strive to raise awareness about the importance of diversity and inclusion in the engineering and technology fields.
We hold various events throughout the year, such as networking nights, panel discussions, and workshops, specifically tailored for the professional and personal development of our female members. Our WIE section also works closely with other organizations and groups that share our vision of promoting diversity and inclusion in the engineering and technology field. We encourage all our female members to get involved with our WIE section and take advantage of the opportunities it provides. We also welcome men to join and support our WIE initiatives as allies. Together we can make a positive impact in the field of engineering and technology for women.
