IEEE affinity groups refer to local units of IEEE organizational units or standing committees. In the Winnipeg Section, there are currently three active affinity groups. It is not necessary to be a member of a chapter to take part in its activities. If you are interested in learning more about upcoming events, please reach out to the respective chapter chairs for more information.

Young Professionals (YP)

IEEE Young Professionals (formerly GOLD) was created in 1996 as a membership program to help students transition to young professionals within the larger IEEE community. IEEE young professionals are automatically added to the YP member community as they graduate.

IEEE YP is a vibrant community of engineers, scientists, and technical experts with member representation across the globe and throughout IEEE societies.

The IEEE Winnipeg YP affinity group is known for organizing many industry tours and hosting an annual networking event. Contact the executive for information on how to get involved.
