Abstract:

APEGM’s Annual Networking Dinner is held to help encourage student engineers and geoscientists to become more involved in their profession before graduation. The dinner features a delicious meal, a guest speaker, and activities to encourage interaction between the students and professionals. The networking dinner is a great way to promote yourself and your company and support the future of engineering and geoscience in Manitoba.

MaryAnn Mihychuk

Speaker Bio:

MaryAnn Mihychuk is a Manitoba corporate relations specialist and one of Canada’s most experienced community and government relations consultants.

With a professional track record of 30 years practice in the mineral sector, Ms. Mihychuk has held a provincial Cabinet minister portfolio with the Government of Manitoba, senior roles with national trade organizations, and key assignments with junior and senior mining companies.

Recognized for leadership in her career by the Manitoba Association of Engineers and Geoscientists, as Manitoba Minister of Mines, Ms. Mihychuk led the renewal of The Mines Act, rated by industry as the best policy framework in the world.

In October 2009, Ms. Mihychuk accepted appointment to the role of Director, Board of Directors, Gossan Resources Ltd.

Ms. Mihychuk is one of two 2010 Jack Gallagher Visiting Scientists at the University of Manitoba, Department of Geological Sciences, Geology and Geophysics Program.
