Energy efficiency is a keyword in the design of future wireless systems. In this presentation, Dr. Nandana Rajatheva will introduce mobile femto access points as a means to relay signals and reduce the power and increase the spectral efficiency.
The Future of Wireless Technologies
Matthew Crowley is a Wireless Engineer who has worked with MTS Allstream for over 10 years. He is the architect responsible for MTS Allstream’s new high speed wireless HSPA network which is soon to be in service in Manitoba. In this presentation, Matthew will share some insights into the future of wireless technologies, standards, the use of the frequency spectrum, and more.
UMES Golf Tournament
The University of Manitoba Engineering Society (UMES) will be hosing a Golf Tournament on Monday Septemeber 20. Tee off is at 1pm. Professional Cost is $70.00 which includes: dinner, power cart, and greenfee.
EMBS Chapter Seminar
Dr. Rosano is a physician and geriatric neuroepidemiologist. She is currently the PI of two brain MRI studies to identify the predictors of accelerated brain aging. In this presentation, Dr. Rosano will explain one hypothesis to explain why older people maintain high physical and cognitive function late in life is that they have a greater “brain reserve”.
