Greeting from Victorian AP-MTT Chapter Committee members,
We hope that you and your family are safe in the pandemic time. 2020 has been a challenging year for most of us as we spent many months in lockdown dealing with Covid-19 situations. Moving toward the end of this year, we all hope that the virus spread will be contained any time soon, results in the ease of some restrictions, then we can enjoy this spring and coming summer in Victoria.
Last week, our joint chapter was a co-host for a distinguished lecture by Prof. Dr. Levent Svegi in collaboration with other AP-S chapters in Australia. Our next event is an interesting AP distinguished lecture by Professor Atef Elsherbeni on 29th October 2020 at 1 pm. The talk will be on “SAR and Temperature Rise in a Human Head due to EM Radiation for Frequencies up to 100 GHz.” This presentation will focus on the development and simulation procedure to determine the specific absorption rate (SAR) and the corresponding temperature rise due to electromagnetic waves incident on a human head. The human head model is based on medical magnetic resonance images (MRI) that are discretized to fit in the simulation domain.
Registration for this event is available on https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/242580 and a Zoom link will be sent out one day before the event.
