As an update for you, we are in the process of planning the next set of talks – these will be on a proposed mobile / cellular modulation scheme called OTFS, a talk on IoT using a satellite link, and a talk on RF front-ends for 5G to be presented by an MTT Society Distinguished lecturer.

For our student members, there are a couple of interesting projects for you to look at. The IEEE Antenna and Propagation Society has put out a call for students wanting to take part in an 2020 IEEE AP-S Student Design Contest on “Radar applications in everyday life“. For further information have a look at this IEEE/URSI information. If you’d like to discuss it, please feel free to contact us.

Also Microwaves and Techniques Society is running an IEEE-MTT_Sat Challenge. This is is a worldwide competition for teams of undergraduate and graduate students to design and build radio frequency (RF) and microwave hardware for small satellites.

If you are thinking about entering these, and would like to discuss either, please feel free to contact us.

Finally MTT-S is offering up to ten undergraduate / post-graduate fellowships – have a look at this link for more information
