Dear Victorian AP-MTT Chapter Members,
There were so many ups and downs since the beginning of 2020 for everyone, and we have spent many months in lockdown dealing with many challenges. For many of us, the Covid-19 situation has had a significant impact on our lives in different ways. This is a relief that the pandemic has been contained in Victoria, and some lockdown restrictions have been eased. We hope that our lives will get back to normal so soon.
The upcoming conference sponsored by IEEE APs and MTTs is Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC 2020) which offers free registration for non-presenters attendances. APMC 2020 will be held virtually from 8-11 December 2020. It is organized by the IEEE AP/MTT Hong Kong Chapter. APMC is recognized as one of the premier international conferences of the microwave community, with a broad forum for academia and industry to exchange research results and collaborate in the fields of microwaves, millimeter waves, terahertz waves, and infrared and optical waves. For more information, please visit the conference website.
The upcoming IEEE AP-S Student Design Contest in 2021 is about design and build an antenna system to demonstrate and visualize array beamforming for DoA detection. The winners’ prize is a travel to the 2021 IEEE AP-S and win up to US $1,500! The deadline for submission is on December 31, 2020 and May 15, 2021. More details about the terms and conditions can be here.
In addition, our Victorian chapter, with collaboration with other Australian chapters, has hosted a few virtual distinguished lecturer talks in the past few months. We are still trying to organise a few more talks for this year. Please stay tuned for the updates.
