Talk1: ISSI’s ECC Advantage for Memory Subsystem Consideration in Automotive

Speaker: Michael A. Wang, Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc.

Abstract: ISSI offers a broad portfolio of SRAM, DRAM and Flash devices. In this presentation we will examine how ECC has been used to enhance the features and benefits of these devices. We start with a discussion of SRAM, DRAM and Flash and the architectural advantage using ECC in these devices. Then we move to talk about Automotive requirements how ECC might benefit these devices, especially with the advent of Autonomous driving.

Speaker Bio: Michael Wang has over 20 years’ experience in application engineering and marketing of semiconductor chipset and memory subsystem.  Currently, Michael is the Director of Business Development for ISSI and is responsible for chipset ecosystem engagement. Michael holds a BSEE from UC San Diego, and an MSEE and an MBA from Santa Clara University.  Michael was also the 2011-12 Chair of the IEEE Consumer Electronics Society in Silicon Valley.

Talk2: Deep Learning and Computer Vision with AWS DeepLens

Speaker: Nagajyothi Nookula, Amazon

Abstract: AWS DeepLens is world’s first deep learning enabled camera thatis built for edge processing. It allows developers of all skill levels to explore and build their own deep learning powered, computer- vision applications. AWS DeepLens allows developers to get started with their first machine learning application in less than 10 minutes.

In this talk, you will learn about the latest AWS technologies such as AWS DeepLens, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Rekognition, AWS Greengrass and AWS Lambda through examples and demos of machine learning applications. We will start with the basics of machine learning with DeepLens and how to build and train a face detection model on Amazon SageMaker and then show you how to extend the model to build a ML application that uses AWS DeepLens and Amazon Rekognition to recognize the sentiment of your audience.
