#Stay_Home Coffee Talk with Natalia Georgiadou

The Women in Engineering of the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Western Macedonia in Kastoria organized a webinar Coffee Talk on Saturday, 9th of April 2020 at 19.00, as part of #stay_safe campaign.

The guest of the Coffee Talk was Natalia Georgiadou, Project Manager at the company ATCOM Internet & Multimedia in Greece, who talked about her experience on the working field, explaining her career development.

The conversation started with Natalia talking about life from her Department of  Tourism Management studies at Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki until her current position at the company which she works as a Project Manager. Afterwards, all questions from the team members were answered.

Natalia spoke about her dreams on her work development, the changes from a workplace to another as she chose it to experience something different every time, her studies, her internship in Mexico on Erasmus+ and in Greece, too. Also, for the companies she has worked and her experiences from there separately. 

Furthermore, by answering all the questions, Natalia explained useful things such as her partial experience on programming, her online courses in order to obtain certificates who later helped her, the agile methodology which she uses and the treatment about the attitudes of different people on teams. Also, it was said that things have changed the last years and women at the workplace have evolved as the younger ones have a great growth mindset and men, too. Lastly, she included that most women who work at her company are in top-level positions.

The Coffee Talk was carried out by Cisco WebEx Meetings. Nine members of our Student Branch participated, men and women. The discussion was very interesting with a lot of beneficial information from Natalia and advice who empowered our members.
