With a warm welcome, we accepted the students on Monday 1 October 2018 at the TEI of Western Macedonia in Kastoria. The members of the IEEE Student Branch and Women in Engineering, Western Macedonia University of Applied Sciences, Kastoria, in collaboration with the Kastoria Crete Students Association and Kastoria Pontian Students Association, met to get acquainted with the first year students, to inform them about the actions and to attract them to participate in these interesting actions as well.
It was the first official presentation of Women in Engineering (WiE) who has as target to informing the students and fully understanding the aims of the group as well as its actions. Also, the presentation for Women in Engineering, Kastoria, was made by the President of Women in Engineering Georgia Fasoulas and the Secretary of Women in Engineering Efstathia Kollia.
During the presentation, flyers were distributed through which they could get more information and contact us.
The 15-day welcoming of the newcomers began with the informing new students. It will continue next week with some activities, one of which will be the IEEE Day 2018 where Women in Engineering will be presented. Thereafter, Women in Engineering Coffee Talk will be held, combining coffee and discussion on innovative technology issues.
