What is IEEE AUB?
The IEEE Student Branch at the American University of Beirut (AUB), established in 1997, is the first and largest IEEE student branch in Lebanon. Over the years, it has evolved from a small community into a vast network of members and alumni dedicated to advancing technology and fostering innovation. The branch is renowned for organizing impactful events, such as the “Build It Weekend” hardware hackathon, which earned the IEEE Darrel Chong Award for its innovative approach and significant impact. Additionally, the branch has been recognized with the IEEE Regional Exemplary Student Branch Award, reflecting its commitment to excellence and active engagement within the engineering community. Guided by dedicated advisors, including Dr. Imad Elhajj, the IEEE AUB Student Branch continues to provide students with opportunities for professional growth, hands-on experience, and a platform to connect with peers and industry leaders.
