On April 24, students from across disciplines gathered in West Hall’s Common Room for an eye-opening talk by Tony Dib, an engineering consultant with over 25 years of global experience in AI-driven innovation across healthcare, automotive, and industrial technology sectors.

In this multi-disciplinary event, Tony challenged the notion that AI is just for coders — sharing real-world applications that resonate with doctors, designers, entrepreneurs, and engineers alike.

Organized by Google Developer Groups AUB and the CSSS, in collaboration with IEEE AUB, ASME, AIM, IISE, and other societies, the session inspired students to rethink their role in the AI revolution.

On April 22, the IEEE AUB Student Branch, in collaboration with ACM and Hack The Box, hosted an engaging Linux-based Capture the Flag (CTF) session aimed at reinforcing concepts from the Ethical Hacking 1 course.

Held in SRB 413 from 4:00–7:00 PM, the session featured:

• Guided walkthroughs of two Linux CTF challenges

• A review of key topics for the final exam

• A chance to win Hack The Box prizes for top solvers 🏆

On April 16, the IEEE AUB Student Branch hosted an exclusive virtual workshop with Amazon Business Intelligence Engineers — Yasmina Hobeika and Ali Najem — for a deep dive into the power of data analytics in modern industries.

On Tuesday, April 15, the IEEE AUB Student Branch, in collaboration with ACM, HackTheBox, and Semicolon Academy, hosted an interactive Bug Bounty Workshop designed to take cybersecurity skills to the next level.

From ethical hacking fundamentals to advanced vulnerability exploitation techniques, this hands-on workshop gave students the opportunity to:

• Learn core bug bounty methodologies

• Engage in practical, lab-based hacking simulations

• Interact with industry mentors from Semicolon Academy

Held at ELH from 5:00–8:00 PM, the workshop attracted cybersecurity enthusiasts eager to break into the field — and featured exclusive giveaways for registered participants. 🧠💻

On April 10, 2025, the IEEE AUB Student Branch welcomed Monty Holding for an insightful session on career development, industry trends, and recruitment strategies within the global telecom landscape.

With operations in over 19 countries and a reach of 2.5 billion mobile subscribers across 120 countries, Monty Holding’s leaders introduced students to exciting roles across their diverse subsidiaries — including MontyPay, Monty Mobile, Monty Finance, and mymonty.

Attendees gained:

• Practical tips on navigating the telecom job market

• A closer look at Monty Holding’s innovative digital solutions

• A Q&A session followed by a casual food reception 🍕🌍

This event offered an excellent opportunity for students to network and explore international career paths with one of the region’s telecom leaders.

As part of AUB’s Job Fair 2025, the IEEE AUB Student Branch partnered with the AUB Career Hub to host a panel discussion titled “From Startup to Scale-Up” on April 7 at Bathish Auditorium.

Featuring Toters’ Co-Founders — Tamim Khalfa (CEO) and Nael Halwani (COO) — the event offered a deep dive into the growth journey of one of Lebanon’s most successful tech startups.

Moderated by Mohamad Baghdadi (IEEE PR Officer) and Tamara Mardini (President of the Business Student Society), the session provided valuable insights into entrepreneurship, operations scaling, and career development in the tech world.

Students also had the opportunity to meet the Toters team at their Job Fair booth to explore internships and job opportunities. 🚀💼

On Wednesday, March 26, the IEEE AUB Student Branch hosted a virtual career session in collaboration with gtlogic, providing students with a valuable opportunity to connect directly with industry professionals.

On April 7, 2025, the IEEE AUB Student Branch 💡, in collaboration with the AUB Investment Club, proudly hosted Jad Al Fakhani, also known as Wolfofbey — Founder & CEO of Beycom and WhiteBerry Media, and a Forbes 30 Under 30 entrepreneur.

During this engaging session, attendees explored:

In a heartwarming collaboration between the IEEE AUB Student Branch 💙, AUB UNICEF Club 🩵, and the Biology Student Society 💚, students came together to collect donations for a charitable Ramadan iftar. Stands were placed across campus at West Hall, Jafet Library, OXY MSFEA, and the Courtyard on March 18 and 19, inviting the AUB community to contribute.

All proceeds went toward organizing a joyful iftar for children in need, in collaboration with Ajialouna NGO. Thank you to everyone who donated your kindness helped light up Ramadan for those who need it most. 🌙✨
