This is our annual sharing of the new and unusual things seen at the Consumer Electronics Show in early January. This event has proven to be a very popular one to attend for people that are in the industry or just have a curiosity. See photos and hear explanations about some of the highlights and major themes, as well as some of the weird and unusual items that always seem to appear at CES. Additionally, there are a number of related events that are held just before and after CES that will be talked about, including Showstoppers, Digital Experience, Storage Visions, and ICCE (International Conference on Consumer Electronics)
Speaker Bios:
Joseph Wei – is a Venture Partner of Skychee Ventures (www.skychee.ventures), previously, he co-founded Lab360 (www.Lab360.com), a hardware incubator that provides investment, mentorship, and business acceleration for early stage startups. Prior to Lab360, he founded SJW Consulting Inc., a strategic consulting firm advising global 1000 technology and financial clients on technology trends and product strategy. He led several new businesses at Inventec, SGI, NEC and DEC (acquired by Compaq/HP) that pioneered innovative products, and, generated over $500 million in revenue He is a senior member of IEEE, Chair of the Santa Clara Valley IEEE Section, Board member and Chair of the CE Society, SCV.
Tom Coughlin – President of Coughlin Associates (www.tomcoughlin.com), a market analysis and consulting company focused on storage technology used in a variety of areas, including consumer electronics. Tom also runs the Storage Visions conference, held each year just before CES in Las Vegas, and also the Creative Storage conference. Tom is also a past Chairman of the IEEE CES Santa Clara Valley chapter, and is currently on the chapter’s executive team.
