IEEE GRSS Wuhan Student Chapter 2023 Academic Report is Successfully Held
On February 24, 2023, the IEEE GRSS Wuhan Student Chapter 2023 Academic Report was held at Wuhan University and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). The academic report invited several distinguished professors and young scholars to share the latest progress of their frontier research, which has attracted hundreds of participants. What a wonderful academic feast!

Professor Liangpei Zhang, IEEE Fellow and founding chair of the IEEE GRSS Wuhan Chapter, delivered an opening speech. He affirmed the efforts made by all IEEE members to build an open and inclusive academic sharing platform for the geoscience and remote sensing community, and encouraged young scholars to aspire to high ideals, to be virtuous, to become talented, and to assume responsibilities for human development. He also encouraged researchers to participate in IEEE GRSS activities, attend the IEEE IGARSS symposium, and publish their latest research in journals and conferences of IEEE.

Professor Lefei Zhang, Chairman of IEEE GRSS Wuhan Chapter, presided over the first half of the academic report. Professor Wei He and Associate Professor Qiqi Zhu gave academic reports on hyperspectral computational imaging and remote sensing imagery interpretation, respectively.
The second half of the academic report was held in the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), hosted by Dr. Chengxi Han, the chairman of IEEE GRSS Wuhan Student Chapter. Professor Jun Li, IEEE Fellow, affirmed the efforts made by IEEE GRSS Wuhan Chapter to promote the development of geoscience and remote sensing, and encourage students to join the IEEE GRSS Wuhan Student Chapter.
The report invited 8 excellent young students from universities in Wuhan to share their latest academic progress and their experience in scientific research. There is a heated discussion between the participants and the reporters.
The IEEE GRSS Wuhan Student Chapter is a platform established by IEEE student members and is committed to providing academic sharing opportunities for students interested in geoscience and remote sensing. Dr. Chengxi Han is the chairman of the IEEE GRSS Wuhan Student Chapter, Dr. Haonan Guo serves as the vice chairman of the IEEE GRSS Wuhan Student Chapter, and Dr. Meiqi Hu is the secretary of the IEEE GRSS Wuhan Student Chapter. In recent years, the student chapter has invited excellent graduates from home and abroad to share their experiences in academic research and contests. The student chapter has also built an exclusive academic platform for students, which has attracted more than 200 students from Wuhan universities at present. In the future, the IEEE GRSS Wuhan Student Chapter will hold more high-level academic activities and we sincerely look forward to your active participation.
