Prof. Jinchang Ren was invited to give a presentation for IEEE GRSS Wuhan Chapter

On April 14, 2023, Prof. Jinchang Ren was invited to give a presentation for IEEE GRSS Wuhan Chapter at Wuhan University. The title of his presentation is “Emerging Techniques for Feature Extraction and Data Classification in Hyperspectral Images”. More than 50 IEEE GRSS Wuhan members participated in this activity.

Dr Jinchang Ren is a professor at Robert Gordon University, UK. Dr. Ren received his bachelor’s, master’s and Doctor’s degrees in Computer software, Image processing and pattern recognition, and Computer vision from Northwestern Polytechnical University in 1992, 1997 and 2000, respectively. He was a lecturer and associate professor in the Department of Computer Science, at Northwestern Polytechnical University from 1998 to 2002. He received his PhD in Electronic Imaging and Multimedia Communication from the University of Bradford in 2009. Dr. Ren Jinchang has been engaged in the research of signal processing, image processing and pattern recognition for a long time. He has mastered the key technologies of image processing and analysis and is familiar with the most advanced research trends in this field. Dr Ren has presided over more than ten research projects in recent years, with a total funding of over £3.5 million. He is currently an associate editor of IEEE TGRS, the Journal of the Franklin Institute and several other international journals. Its students have received many awards, including the best doctoral thesis of the Year and the best thesis/poster of the IET Visual Image Group.
