On January 13, 2024, the 2024 IEEE GRSS China Chapter Strategical Planning Session was successfully held at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan).

The session was organized by the IEEE GRSS Wuhan Chapter and Wuhan Student Chapter. Attendees included chairs and representatives from various GRSS chapters in China, and GRSS AdCom. members Prof. Jun Li and Prof. Hanwen Yu, GRSS executive VP Prof. Saibun Tjuatja(online), and representatives from student chapters.

The session was presided over by Prof. Tao Chen, chair of the IEEE GRSS Wuhan Chapter. It began with welcoming remarks from Prof. Hanwen Yu and Prof. Saibun Tjuatja. Following the agenda, participants discussed strategic plans for the IEEE GRSS China, organizational development, conference and activity plans, volunteer training, recruitment of the new generation of volunteers, career support for young professionals, and collaboration with other communities. All representatives expressed their commitment to furthering cooperation, actively engaging in IEEE GRSS initiatives, and encouraging Chinese volunteers to play a more active role in IEEE GRSS.
