Come join the IEEE Worcester Power and Energy Society for a tour of the Sandy Pond High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Terminal. Sandy Pond HVDC is part of the first multi-terminal bipolar HVDC system in the world. The 450kV HVDC line spans 930 miles interconnecting three stations: Radisson & Nicolet Stations in Quebec, Canada and Sandy Pond Station in Ayer, MA. Sandy Pond HVDC has a 2000MW transfer capability, bringing in clean hydroelectric power from the Radisson Terminal.
Presentation and Q&A will be followed by a tour and will end with networking and pizza.
LIMITED TO THE FIRST 12 PEOPLE, SO DON’T WAIT TO REGISTER!
