Artificial hip, knee and other joints are being implanted in the tens of thousands every year in Canada to treat musculoskeletal diseases in order to improve the quality of life of patients. In this presentation, Dr. Wyss will outline some of the reasons and ongoing research for why it is important to continue to improve the long-term survival of well functioning artificial joints.
