WIE 2 DAY SYMPOSIUM 2018

WEAVE A YARN

OVERVIEW:

This is a fun event that is all about the control of mind over mouth. Tell a story, either a long drawn-out one or an adventurous one. All you have to do is avoid stuttering and you have a chance to go home with the prize. The event consists of three rounds:

1. Round 1 – JAM
2. Round 2– Pseudo JAM
3. Round 3– Logo Description

RULES:

STAGE 1:  Just a minute(JAM)

1. No preparation time
2. The participant must talk on a topic for a minute.
3. Participants must be clear in their speech. A break in the flow of speech would result in loss of marks/points.
4. The speech must be relevant to the topic.
5. Repeating the same point, or playing with words on the same point would also result in loss of marks/points.
6. The participants with the maximum points will qualify for the next round.
7. The decision of the Jam Master is final.

STAGE 2:  Pseudo JAM

1. One-minute preparation time.
2. Everything spoken on the given topic must be false. True facts or statements will not be considered.
3. Participants must be clear in their speech. A break in the flow of speech would result in loss of marks/points.
4. Repeating the same point, or playing with words on the same point would also result in loss of marks/points.
5. The participants with maximum points will qualify for the next round.
6. The decision of the Jam Master is final.

STAGE 3:  Logo Description

1. Participants must weave a story as to how the logo was designed based on the Logo displayed.
2. The story can be true, imaginary or a mix of both.
3. 5 minutes of preparation time will be given.
4. The decision of the Judges will be final.

Violation of any of the above given rules on any ground by any team, will result in the team being disqualified.
