The IEEE-RIT Student Branch was inaugurated in RIT in November 2003. The branch endeavors to enrich the students of RIT with the latest developments in various fields of technology and research and ensure that their competency levels meet all the required standards in today’s industry and participation in a kaleidoscope of technical events throughout the year, implicitly emphasizing on extra-curricular activities in a student’s life.

IEEE-RIT has various chapters under it which are working continuously together in bringing up the technical standards of the students of Ramaiah Institute of Technology.

  • Robo-RIT, the robotics chapter of IEEE-RIT aims to provide ample opportunities for the students of RIT in developing their skills in embedded systems and Robotics.
  • WIE, Women in Engineering chapter of IEEE-RIT is dedicated to promote the participation of Women, inspire girls to follow their academic interests to a career in engineering.
  • The Power and Energy Society (PES) provides the world’s largest forum for sharing the latest technological developments in the electrical power industry.
  • The Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) is a group of bio-medical engineers who are dedicated towards the sustainable health through innovative Technology
