IEEE Student Branch, MSRIT, Bangalore in association with Roxent Technologies and IIT Kharagpur, India conducted a two days workshop on Quadcopter on 17th-18th September, 2016, at MSRIT Bangalore Campus. The workshop turned out to be a huge success with 20+ group registration with 5 members in each group. About 100 students from different academic years and branches were part of the workshop. The workshop was held from 10:00 am- 5:00 pm in eduSat Lab and MCA lab of MSRIT, Bangalore.
The event was mentored by Mr. Chandan Verma, an IIT, Kharagpur alumni. First day of the workshop was dedicated to fimiliarizing the students with the various essential parts of a quadcopter and function and purpose of each components used, followed by an introduction to Arduino programming. Some of the concepts taught on this day includes PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), ESC (Electronic Speed Controller), Stepper motor , different motions of quadcopter, introduction to Arduino programming, etc.
The second day of the workshop resumed with Arduino programming and hands on hardwares used in quadcopter construction and later a quadcopter flying session under the expert guidance, thereby bringing the two days quadcopter workshop to an end. The students enjoyed the workshop thoroughly with much enthusiasm, especially during the quadcopter flying session.
