“Women and Community in Solid Waste Management of Bengaluru”
Manogna Sastry, a passionate environmentalist, has a Master’s degree in Science with a background of Theoretical Physics, including General Relativity and Theory of Fields and Astrophysics. She is working as the Chief Operations Officer at the Centre for Fundamental Research and Creative Education, Bangalore. She is also a Mentor and Research Associate at Centre for Fundamental Research and Creative Education. She completed her M.Sc from The Indian Institute of Astrophysics in 2012 with a research paper featuring the topic Inflationary Cosmology. Her project on Symplectic Topology and Quantisation was very well received and was concluded by Research Education Advancement Programme, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, Bangalore.
As a passionate environmentalist, she has taken an active interest and participated in various issues that have concerned citizens in the urban space of Bengaluru, including several programmes to create awareness and sensitization about managing one’s solid waste as a part of the teams We Care for Malleswaram and Clean Green Workshops.
