The Women in Engineering of the IEEE Student Branch, Western Macedonia University of Applied Sciences, Kastoria, is organizing a workshop on “Woman in the World of Technology”, which will take place on Friday, November 23, 2018, at 18:30 at the Grand Amphitheater of TEI of Western Macedonia in Kastoria.
The workshop will present topics from the professors of the Department of Informatics Engineering Dr. Kalogiratou Z., Dr. Evangelou X. and Ms. Karamanou A. Finally, IEEE Women in Engineering will be presented as well as the actions that will be taken.
The aim of the workshop is to encourage young women in giving a strong presence to the female engineers of our department and to the local community in order to engage in Technology, inspired by the experiences and actions of our speakers as well as by the actions of Women in Engineering.

- Presentation of Women in Engineering at IEEE Student Branch – Georgia Fasoula, Chairwoman of Women in Engineering of IEEE Student Branch Western Macedonia University of Applied Sciences, Kastoria.
- “Women in research in Numerical Analysis” Kalogiratou Zacharoula, Professor of Mathematics and Chairwoman of the Department of Informatics Engineering at TEI of Western Macedonia in Kastoria.
- “The feminine side of Logistics. Powers and Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats” Evangelou Christina, Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineer, Ing, MSc, Ph.D. and laboratory partner in the Department of Informatics Engineering TEI of Western Macedonia in Kastoria.
- “The woman and her role in innovation, research, and technology.” Karamanou Areti, Research Associate at ITI / CERTH and an extraordinary laboratory associate of the Department of Informatics Engineering.
