Introducing Keynote Speaker: Allan J. McDonald
Allan is an accomplished engineer, executive and author of the book Truth, Lies and O-Rings: Inside the Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster. As the former Director of the Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Motor Project for Morton Thiokol, an engineering contractor, Allan was part of the team hired by NASA to make the Shuttle’s Solid Rocket Boosters. In his lecture, Allan will discuss ethical engineering, the pressures to launch the Challenger Space Shuttle and the tragedy from his perspective in the Launch Control Center Room in 1986.
