5 October – Toshio Fukuda, IEEE Life Fellow has been elected as the 2019 IEEE President-Elect. Pending acceptance of the IEEE Tellers’ Committee report by the IEE Board of Directors on 18-19 November, Toshio Fukuda will begin serving as IEEE President on 1 January 2020. He will succeed 2019 IEEE President Jose’ M. F. Moura. The other candidates for 2019 IEEE President-Elect were Fellow Vincenzo Piuri and Life Fellow Jacek M. Zurada.
