Biography
Professor Saifur Rahman is the founding director of the Advanced Research Instute (www.ari.vt.edu) at Virginia Tech, USA where he is the Joseph R. Loring professor of electrical and computer engineering. He also directs the Center for Energy and the Global Environment. He is a Life Fellow of the IEEE and an IEEE Millennium Medal winner. He was the president of the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) for 2018 and 2019. He was the founding editor-in-chief of the IEEE Electrificaon Magazine and the IEEE transactions on Sustainable Energy. He has published over 140 journal papers and has made over four hundred conference and invited presentaons. He is the founder of BEM Controls, LLC, a Virginia (USA)-based soware company providing building energy management soluons.

Biografía

Nando Ochoa es Profesor de Redes Inteligentes (Smart Grids) y Sistemas de Potencia en la Universidad de Melbourne, Australia y Profesor a tiempo parcial de Redes Inteligentes enla Universidad de Manchester, Reino Unido. Es IEEE PES Distinguished Lecturer desde 2015 y miembro senior de IEEE desde 2012. De 2007 a 2010 fue investigador en Sistemas de Energía en la Universidad de Edimburgo, Reino Unido. En2010, también realizó una comisión de servicio industrial con la empresa Psymetrix Ltd, con sede en Edimburgo (ahoraparte de GE).

El Profesor Ochoa tiene título profesional en IngenieríaMecánica y Eléctrica recibida de UNI (Perú) y una Maestríaen Investigación y un Doctorado en Ingeniería de EnergíaEléctrica, ambos recibidos de UNESP Ilha Solteira (Brasil).
