IEEE PCJS Chair Roger Ding planned and organized a celebration of the IEEE Princeton Central Jersey Section’s 75th Anniversary. Thank you Roger for all of your hard work to make this a terrific event.
We had our Region 1 leaders attend including Director Elect Bala Prasanna and his wife Jayanna. Our Southern Area Chair Sandy Mazzola and his wife Susan, Bob Pelligrino and his wife Maria from the NY section.
Seventy-five years ago, on July 1, 1947, the Princeton section of the Institute of Radio Engineers spun off from the Philadelphia section. That month, much of Europe accepted the Marshall Plan that the Soviet Union rejected; the United Kingdom approved India’s independence; and a UFO crashed near Roswell, New Mexico. The transistor was five months from invention at Bell Labs; the ENIAC digital computer was moved from the University of Pennsylvania to the Ballistics Research Laboratory at Aberdeen, Maryland; RCA Laboratories demonstrated the first electronic color TV camera to the Federal Communications Commission; and Americans would buy 250,000 monochrome TV sets by the end of the year. Join us to celebrate the three generations of members and volunteers who have made the section and contributed to our electronic world!
We had some great last-minute catering from:
