April 28, 2018 – Great News, our WIE Chair Forough Ghahramani was invited to China with the following invitation. Below this are photos from Forough’s trip:
Forough Ghahramani, an invited speaker at the First Future Engineering and Global Women’s Leadership Summit in Changsha, China on “Critical Success Factors for Building Inclusive Innovation Ecosystems”. Forough was part of the delegation for Society of Women Engineers (SWE) commemorating a ground breaking partnership between the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and SWE at Central South University (CSU). More information: http://iecd.csu.edu.cn/symposium/schedule_en.htmIn addition to showcasing the innovative work and research of women leaders in the global engineering and technology community, other highlights of the conference included a visit to China’s first innovation and entrepreneurship center, high speed train research lab, the largest manufacturer of construction machinery, and an incubator.Forough was inducted as a mentor to the CSU Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The partnership between SWE and CAE will not only make a positive and tangible impact on the engineering profession within China and the United States but also on a global scale. The symposium provided a forum for productive and collaborative dialogue over the next few years to further the advancement of women in engineering and technology.
