Overview: 

Cable, Pipe & Conduit Sealing Solutions

Presentation will give an overview of the importance of sealing cable/pipe entry points into walls, floors, cabinets, control houses, and vaults, etc. within the power industry. Discussion on common standards, guidelines that are present in these industries. Able to identify the main critical areas where cable and pipe transits or sealing systems are needed to increase site protection, maintenance, and operational reliability.

Interpret the technical requirements for cable and pipe transits in different types of utility applications. Calculate and design proper cable and pipe transit sealing solutions to address issues related to protecting life and assets against risks caused by Fire, Water, Gas, Pests, Dust, and Blast load.

Bill Allanson – Bill is the Regional Manager for Roxtec sealing solutions T&D segment group and is based out of Portland, Oregon.  His background has been in the Power Utility industry since 1979. He is a past member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 77 in Washington State.

Bill worked for 17 years for one of the largest Investor-Owned Utilities in their Materials Management, Procurement, and Standards Engineering departments. After leaving the utility Bill went into Business Development and Sales field calling on Power Utilities, Major Electrical Contractors, Wind Energy, Solar, and Data Centers.

Bill has served on committees such as IEEE, NWPPA, and Helicopter Association International.
