As per tradition, the officer board must select a new secretary every odd year who will take over the responsibilities of the previous secretary.

If you’re interested in applying for the IAS Industrial Drives Committee’s secretary position, please respond to this email and attach a brief statement of purpose and your CV. Highlight any previous activities you’ve had working with IDC, IAS, and IEEE.

The role of the secretary encompasses several duties, including maintaining the committee roster, sending news to IDC members and managing messages from and to members, attending the annual IDC meeting at ECCE and preparing the meeting minutes.

The secretary position is intended to begin a long journey, typically ten years, encompassing the following two-year terms: secretary, vice chair-conferences, vice chair-papers, committee chair, and past chair.

The deadline for applications is August 15, 2023. The applicants will be notified about the committee decision in early September 2023.
