Prof. Cai worked in the US for many years in the auto industry, before starting JJE Electric in China. JJE Electric is now a major manufacturer of drives for EVs and hybrids. He is the inventor of the hairpin winding. He recently moved to academia, so he is freer to speak about a great topic with a unique perspective.
