Events

We hold two single-day, signature events each year, Metrocon and a Teacher In-Service Program.

  • Metrocon 2022, was held on November 3 at the Hurst Conference Center.   It was very similar in format to past in-person Metrocons. The conference had five sessions in each of nine tracks, a plenary speaker, a luncheon keynote address, exhibitors, a student poster contest, and a closing reception. Metrocon 2023 will be held again in Hurst on November 2, 2023. New tracks, volunteers, and speakers are being considered.
  • The Teacher In-Service Program (TISP) provides a forum for IEEE volunteers to demonstrate the application of engineering, science and mathematics concepts by sharing their real-world experiences with local pre-university educators. It is a one-day event offered in late summer when teachers are available and getting ready for the next school year. Planning has begun for the next event on July 21, 2020.
