Data Centers

January 16, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm CST

$30 – $35

This presentation will guide you through the process of data center electrical system design. The presentation begins with the preliminary capacity planning process. The process involves assigning the day one and future expanded power needs for the data center, and selection of the appropriate redundant power system topology – N+1, N+2, 2N, 2N+1, or 3N/2. Common redundancy scheme rating systems based on Uptime Institute’s Tier Rating System will be presented, including a discussion of power system, mechanical HVAC, and other ancillary equipment requirements. An overview of equipment configurations will also be presented, including rack layouts, busway design, cable management, and major HVAC equipment needs.
