Please email Lynn Olson @ lynnolson1@boisestate.edu if you are interested in volunteering to interview or forward to others that would like this opportunity to meet with the top engineering students in the Class of 2022.

Engineers Week, or EWeek, is coming up February 21-27.  Founded by NSPE in 1951, EWeek is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.   It is a time to celebrate the important work of engineers and engage the next generation of innovators while promoting engineering licensure.

As part of EWeek, the Southwest Chapter of the Idaho Society of Professional Engineers again plans to recognize the top Boise State College of Engineering junior students.  2021 nominations for the top two junior students within each field have been collected from the Boise State College of Engineering Departments of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and the Micron School of Materials Science and Engineering.

With the help of Zoom, you can make a difference as a volunteer interviewer to select the top junior student from one or more fields of engineering. Resumes for each of the nominees will be shared with the interview committee in advance along with a loose outline for evaluation. Each Zoom interview will last approximately 15 minutes with 45 minute time blocks allotted for each major.  Volunteers are welcome to sign up for 1 or more sessions.

  • Electrical engineering student interviews –  Monday, February 22nd from 4:15-5:00 pm
  • Materials science & engineering student interviews  –  Monday, February 22nd from 5:00-5:45 pm
  • Civil engineering student interviews –  Tuesday, February 23rd from 4:30-5:15 pm
  • Mechanical engineering student interviews –  Tuesday, February 23rd from 5:15-6:00 pm

Please email Lynn Olson @ lynnolson1@boisestate.edu if you are interested in volunteering to interview or forward to others that would like this opportunity to meet with the top engineering students in the Class of 2022.

Thanks for your consideration of this request, as ISPE honors these future engineers, promotes engineering licensure and celebrates the engineering profession.
