Admiral Clemins served as Command in Chief, US Pacific Fleet from 1996 to 1999. He retired from active duty in 1999 to Boise with his wife Marilyn. He was the owner and president of Caribou Technologies, a member of the Science and Technology Board for the State of Idaho, a member of the Industry Advisory Council for BSU’s College of Engineering, and chair and vice-chair of multiple software and electronics startups. He started his Navy career as an electrical engineer in the Naval Nuclear Power program, having received his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
