Communications Computing Track (Track 3) Chair

Sherwood Olson is a systems engineer who delivers expertise and technology solutions for national security customers and works for CACI, Inc. in the Baltimore, Maryland area.  Before joining the CACI team, he served in the United States Air Force performing worldwide communications and cyber defense missions.

Sherwood has been an active member of the IEEE Baltimore Section since 2012 and was elected as Secretary for the Baltimore Section Executive Committee in 2016, followed by Vice-Chair the next year, and then served as Chair in 2018.  Currently, he is the section’s web administrator and is Vice-Chair for the Baltimore chapter of the IEEE Communications Society.

Sherwood is certified as a Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) through the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE).  He graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, with a Bachelor in Computer Engineering.
